What we are reading Wednedays- Clara Winter

Well, we are in for a treat today! This week we have a great new book that is just launching! What makes it even more special is one of the authors of this new novel is my cousin. In the literary world, she is known as her pen name Clara Winter.

What is great is that when we were growing up we didn't get along that great, both being only children we didn't see at that time what a special relationship and bond we would have later in our lives.   In our teenage years, the two of us being only two years apart became super close. We truly have a friendship that made us not just cousins but a bond that we can only imagine you would have with a sister.  When she had her son we got even closer. My nephew is the best gift in my life I have ever been given, that and my own two boys of course. Becoming an auntie was the best thing at that time that had ever happened to me.  Before my boys were born traveling and seeing each other happened so often, texts and calls easier, life gets busy and time goes by so fast nowadays for me.  That doesn't stop me from being so excited for her in her successes in life especially when she became a published author. Something that the two of us have dreamed about doing our entire lives.  So when her dream was achieved I was one of the biggest fans of her books and in her corner!!  All of her books she has published I just devour.  I know you will as well if you are a new reader of her books.
Here are a few things you should know about Clara Winter, she grew up reading Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, and Alice in Wonderland while watching Buck Rogers, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. Writing her own stories naturally ensued. She is a wife, mother, and former school counselor, with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Clara is from Colorado Springs, Co, and currently resides in Orange County, Ca.

We did a Question and Answer with Clara for fun and to give you a more personal feel.

If you were able to bring only one book to a deserted island, which book would you bring? My favorite book of all time, Wuthering Heights. I will never get tired of Heathcliff and Catherine.

Have you traveled to the location of a book before? Many, but my favorite is New Orleans. The very first time I went, at 18, my friend and I made it a point to visit all of Lestat’s haunts.

When did your fascination with vampires and the paranormal begin? At 15, with The Vampire Chronicles. I devoured those books. I love them all, but my favorites are Interview with the Vampire, Queen of the Damned, and Blackwood Farm.

What genre would you like to write that you haven’t? I would love to try a sci-fi space opera, at some point.

In this pandemic what book character would you want to be on lockdown with and why? I honestly don’t think there is one! I was happy to just be on lockdown with my guys, and the dogs.

Writing is something she is so full of passion about. Under her belt, she has published five full novels and two novellas for Inkspell Publishing, two novellas with the Enchanted Quill Press, and a short story that was published by Pixie Forest Publishing.   It is her newest book named Magic & Mischief, that we are talking about today. This is a collaboration of 10 authors all together that came together to write nine new stories you are going to enjoy!!!!
