I made these the other day because I thought the boys would love them, I try all the time to find foods that the two of them would like and would try. Well, I am thankful for my friend and her kids because my kids wouldn't even touch them, my boy's loss was her kid's gain! After dinner she allowed her kids to eat them! I sent them home with her. I am trying so hard to be very good at what I eat and not do anything to mess up my blood sugar levels. I worked my butt off getting my A1C from a 12 down to a 7.9 in two months. This makes my love of baking a blessing for my friends that I hand things off to enjoy. When I am stressed or bored I like to bake, this does nothing for my figure or blood sugar.
Smores bars, (Picture credit is google search)
1/2 cup
butter, plus more for pan
1
(12-oz.) package mini marshmallows
7 c.
Golden Grahams or Cinnomon toast crunch cereal ( I perfer the CTC best)
5
Hershey's milk chocolate bars, broken into pieces (use kitchen scissors)
- Grease a 9"-x-13" pan with butter. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add all but 1 cup of mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth. (I used a smaller size pan and it was awful!)
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in GG or CTC until evenly coated. Press into pan and top with chocolate pieces and remaining 1 cup mini marshmallows.
- Heat broiler, and cook until marshmallows are toasted, about 2 minutes. ( This makes them extra yummy! I forgot the first time I made them)
- Let set at least 30 minutes before slicing.
